For the LORD God is a sun and a shield. The LORD will give grace and glory. He withholds no good thing from those who walk blamelessly.

Psalm 84:11 · WEB
Today’s word

A delayed answer can raise questions about God’s goodness. We may see someone else receive what we have prayed for and wonder whether the Father has overlooked us. Psalm 84 directs our attention back to His character: He is a giver of grace and glory, a sun and a shield.

God’s goodness does not mean every desire will be fulfilled in the way we expect. We cannot explain every loss by declaring that the thing we wanted was not good. We can, however, bring our disappointment to Him without concluding that His heart toward us has become unkind.

Walking with God includes allowing Him to examine both our desires and our expectations. His wisdom reaches beyond what we can see, and His care is not limited to the outcome we have pictured. The same Father who provides also protects and forms us.

Today, be honest about what you are waiting for. Ask God for what you need, and express your gratitude through thanksgiving for the goodness He has already shown you. You do not have to silence your questions to trust Him. Bring them before the Father, knowing that He remains faithful.

I declare

I trust the goodness and wisdom of my Father. I will not measure His love by one unanswered request or compare His care for me with another person’s journey. My desires remain surrendered to Him, and my heart is open to His provision and direction.

Prayer

Father, You know what I have been longing for and the questions that waiting has raised. Keep disappointment from distorting my understanding of Your goodness. Examine my desires, provide what I need and strengthen my trust. Help me recognize Your care without demanding that it take the shape I expected.

Amen.
