“Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted on the earth.”

Psalm 46:10 · WEB
Today’s word

In a world filled with competing voices, we need space to remember who God is. Psalm 46 places our confidence in the One who is our refuge and strength, even when the world around us is unsettled. Stillness turns our attention toward His sovereignty.

Making room to listen is not a technique that guarantees an immediate answer. It is an expression of relationship and trust. We stop filling every moment with our own explanations and bring our hearts before the Father who is already present.

Sometimes what needs to quieten first is not our schedule, but the argument and voices within us. We keep rehearsing a fear, defending a preference or demanding certainty before we will obey. Prayer gives us a place to surrender those struggles and receive the truth of God’s Word again.

Set aside an unhurried moment today. Present yourself before the Father, read His Word and acknowledge His greatness. Bring Him what has been occupying your thoughts, and allow Him to clear the clutter within your heart and mind. You may not leave with every question answered, but you can leave with your attention renewed and your heart aligned with Him. God remains faithful, even when you do not fully understand your circumstances.

I declare

I make room to attend to God’s presence and truth. I surrender the noise of fear and the demand to control every outcome. My confidence rests in who He is, and my heart remains attentive to His leadership.

Prayer

Father, quiet the arguments and fears that have occupied my thoughts. Help me attend to Your Word without rushing toward an answer. Renew my confidence in Your sovereignty and care. As I bring my questions before You, keep my heart willing to trust and ready to obey.

Amen.

A new word, every morning.
