But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33 · WEB
Today’s word

Discovering purpose begins with the right priority. Jesus directs our attention first to God’s kingdom and His righteousness. Before we ask where we should go or what we should accomplish, we can ask whether our hearts are seeking what matters most to Him.

It is possible to pursue a good goal while allowing worry or self to govern the pursuit. We may become consumed with provision, recognition or the fear that an opportunity will pass us by. Those concerns can quietly move our attention away from the Father who knows our needs.

Seeking God first does not mean neglecting practical responsibilities. It means bringing those responsibilities under His leadership. We pray, plan and work, while refusing to make our own security the highest purpose of our lives. God’s kingdom becomes the measure by which we examine our decisions.

Today, consider what has been receiving your first and strongest attention. Bring it before God without condemnation. Ask Him to reorder your priorities and align your desires with His will. As you seek Him, you can face your responsibilities with greater freedom, trusting His care while choosing what honors Him.

I declare

I seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness first. My priorities, desires and decisions come under His leadership. I refuse to let worry govern my pursuit of purpose, and I trust my Father’s care as I faithfully carry my responsibilities.

Prayer

Father, examine my priorities and draw my heart back to what matters to You. Where worry has become my motivation, renew my trust. Teach me to seek Your kingdom in ordinary decisions, fulfill my responsibilities faithfully, and pursue every opportunity with a desire to honor You.

Amen.
